App Inventor for Android

In an apparent attempt to close the gap in mobile app count Google has introduced App Inventor.  A tool for creating mobile applications that doesn't require any programming knowledge.   Will this tool open the flood gates and fill the Android market with cool new applications or will the few useful apps just become harder to find under even more poorly written 'poll' applications to assist all us hapless mobile users figure out our lives?
