Tim is Vice-Chair of the Kingston Technology Council and the R&D Competencies Manager at Bombardier Transportation.  A professional engineer and applied scientist, Tim has a B.A.Sc. in engineering (engineering physics / electrical) and a Ph.D. in physics (condensed matter / lasers). He has over 20 years experience in R&D and manufacturing, with over 10 of those years as an engineering manager. Tim has created R&D departments, generated patents, and delivered many new products, processes, and improvements, as well as overseeing the development and launch of several new product programs that resulted in millions of new products sold. Solo engineering activities have spanned electronics and instrumentation, rocket modules, high-temperature furnaces, and novel laser formats.
