About Us

The Kingston Technology Council (KTC) works closely with large organizations active in the technology community and proactively seeks out and supports initiatives that benefit small-and medium-sized organizations. We strive to continually improve the Kingston economy by drawing new technology companies to the area and ensuring existing companies can thrive.

Our mandate is to improve the economic development of the technology-based economy of the Kingston region by creating value for the membership we serve. This regional technology-based economy includes the following innovation clusters: Biotechnology, Medical & Healthcare, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Advanced Material Manufacturing, and Academic Research & Development.

We work diligently to expand the impact of our awareness-raising initiatives, improving the technology sector for all members. The KTC’s expanded reach has helped:

* Increase awareness and interest in technology at the municipal level.
* Strengthen industry and federal government connections via our mailing list,
information exchange, and updates to our Member of Parliament.
* Forge stronger cross-sector partnerships to break down barriers.

Membership

Our membership is our primary strength. Our goals are achieved through leveraging the power of collaboration, innovation and excellence among our membership, which currently consists of over 100 technology leaders in business, industry and education. Kingston Technology Council members benefit from exposure to industry leaders, government representatives, and entrepreneurs. We work closely with all the large organizations active in the technology community and proactively seek out and support initiatives that benefit small- and medium-sized organizations.

Our Speaker Series Luncheons continue to capture the interest of a greater number of people, helping to raise the profile of members of Kingston's emerging technology sector, and providing valuable networking opportunities.

Since 2001, the Kingston Technology Council has celebrated the successes of the technology community in the Greater Kingston region with our annual KTC Awards of Excellence gala. This dynamic, sell-out event highlights the accomplishments of businesses and individuals, while helping to raise the visibility of this growing sector.
